Discovery is a checkpoint, not a formality. Every keyword, ad group and headline is built from this brief, so the two minutes you spend correcting it are the highest-leverage minutes in the whole wizard.
Everything: business name, industry and type; the products/services list; USPs (add, remove, reword); competitors; brands carried; product exclusions - things you don't sell; contact info and hours; the emergency/24-7 flag; and the current promotion text. Your edits are merged into the expert brief before generation, and they win over what the AI read.
Product exclusions - if you sell hot tubs but not inflatable ones, say so here. Exclusions steer both keyword selection and negative keywords.
USPs - these become headline material. "Family-run since 1998", "Price-match promise", "Free site survey" - specific beats generic every time.
How to work the screen:
Check name, industry and business type first - they're structural.
Trim the products list to what this campaign should sell.
Sharpen the USPs; add any the page didn't state.
Add exclusions and confirm competitors and brands.
Confirm and continue.
