Keywords & the quality gate

How keywords are found, enriched, and ruthlessly filtered.

Campaign Creator's keyword philosophy is quality-only: thirty perfect keywords beat two hundred mediocre ones.

How keywords are found

  1. AI seeding - the AI generates seed keywords per advertising angle, grounded in your anchor terms - the words your business actually uses for what it sells - so it can't drift into things you don't offer.

  2. Optional enrichment (AI + Metrics mode) - seeds are enriched with live Google Ads data: search volume, competition, and CPC estimates. In AI-only mode, the AI's judgement carries it without live metrics.

  3. The quality gate - every candidate is scored on three axes: relevance to your business, searcher intent match to the ad group's angle, and commercial viability. Low scorers are removed, not demoted.

What gets rejected, and why that's good

Generic terms with no buying intent, terms about products you excluded in Discovery, and terms that don't fit any angle. Every rejected keyword is spend you didn't waste.

Example. For a hot tub retailer, "hot tub dealer near me" sails through - relevant, local intent, commercial. "hot tub folliculitis" is relevant words but medical intent, and the gate removes it.

Good to know. You can add your own keywords at Review - they join the campaign exactly as you enter them. If you know a term converts, put it in.
