Automation in Search Terms is a dial, not a switch - you decide how much it does for you, per campaign.
Supervised (default) - every recommendation comes to you and nothing applies on its own. The safest mode for onboarding, audits, low-data accounts, and anything where a mistake is expensive.
Autopilot: eligible rules apply automatically once their gates are met (including adding proven positives and blocking clear waste). Ambiguous, risky and value-based items can still route to review.
Custom: you pick exactly which rules apply automatically and which stay manual. Ideal once you trust some low-risk actions but want to keep judgement calls in your hands.
Open the campaign's settings.
Choose Supervised, Autopilot, or Custom.
For Custom, toggle the individual rules you want automated.
Save.
