How settings inherit

Client defaults, campaign overrides, and resetting.

Settings are layered so one quick change to a single campaign can never accidentally reshape the whole account.

The model

  • Set things once at the client level - targets, brand handling, brand terms, service area and the flag-for-negative list, and every campaign beneath it inherits them (shown with an inherited badge).

  • When a campaign needs different treatment, override just that campaign. The override affects only that campaign; the rest keep following the client default.

  • Changed your mind? Reset to client default drops the override and the campaign goes back to inheriting.

How to override one campaign

  1. Open the campaign's settings.

  2. Find the setting and choose Override for this campaign.

  3. Set the campaign-specific value and save. (To revert later, choose Reset to client default.)

Example. A client runs nationally except for one local campaign. Set the service area at client level for everything, then override just the local campaign with its town names - the other campaigns are untouched.
